The DPR installed »Order of Judas» monument to Petro Poroshenko

On 2nd of April the activists of the “Donetsk Republic” public movement installed the “Order of Judas” monument, dedicated to the Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko, on a special platform near the checkpoint “Yelenovka”. The official website of the DPR reported that during the installation — everyone could leave their wishes in the “Book of Shame” to the person who is guilty in giving orders to the Ukrainian troops, and in the beginning of the shelling and killing of the civilians of the DPR.

On Monday, 1st of April, at 5:20 pm, the Ukrainian troops used mortars to shell the settlement of Golmovsky. The operational group of the DPR Representative Office at the joint center for the control and coordination visited the area, noted down the consequences of the shelling, and spoke with the locals. According to their data — a local playground and a garage were damaged during the shelling. The tail part from an 82-mm mortar shell was found on the roof of the garage.

The Ukrainian troops shelled the village of Golubovskoe. A local residential building was damaged as the result. The representatives of the LPR in the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime noted the consequences of the shelling. The representatives of the Republic in the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination estimated the damage, and determined the possible direction from which the shelling was coming from. They also recorded the testimony of the eyewitnesses.

The outgoing week has passed for the Republic with informational speculations around the checkpoints between the LPR and Ukraine. Ukraine, unilaterally, announced the opening of the checkpoint on the route »Zolotoe-Pervomaisk», thus putting the residents of the Republic and Ukrainians in mortal danger. That section of the road and the nearby territory hasn’t yet been cleared of landmines. Instead of ensuring of the safety of the inhabitants of both territories — the Ukrainian troops fired at the village of Zolotoe-5, which is adjusted to the road section, with increasing intensity.

The Ukrainian army invited foreigners to map the minefields because they are unable to deal with the problem of chaotic mining in the area of the so-called «joint force operation». This was announced by the head of the press service of the People’s Militia of the LPR — Yakov Osadchii. «At the moment, the freshly arrived employees of the British and American non-profit organization »HALO Trust» are stationed with the 25th airborne brigade, near the village of ‘Stanitsa Luganskaya’. The organization will make precise maps of the minefields, thus dealing with the situation in the area since the combat engineers of the Ukrainian Brigade are unable to do so on their own» — Yakov Osadchy reported.

According to a statement of the Office of the UN High Commissioner, made with a reference to the Ukrainian authorities — 7,000 square kilometers of Kiev-controlled territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions could be land-mined. The situation is even worse in the DPR and the LPR. The Office of the UN High Commissioner declared that Ukraine is in the 3rd place, after Afghanistan and Syria, by the number of the landmine victims. The Office of the High Commissioner underlined that it is necessary to train both the adults and the children from the eastern regions of Ukraine to recognize the landmines and unexploded shells, in order to reduce the risk of their injury.
