The LPR confirmed the death of 1800 residents during the conflict in Donbass
About 1800 people, including 31 children, died in the Lugansk People’s Republic during the conflict in Donbass — the press service of the Ministry of State Security of the LPR reported. The ministry added that the Ukrainian troops violate the Geneva Convention on the Protection of the Civilian Populations, and the resolution of the UN General Assembly. They continue their targeted bombardment of the residential buildings, hospitals, kindergartens, as well as the infrastructure and life-supporting facilities of the LPR.
On 24th of October, at about 06:50, the Ukrainian troops opened fire from 82mm mortars from the village of Metallist at the village of Golmovsky. As a result of the shelling, 4 garages of the ‘Soyuz’ vehicle cooperative were damaged. Fortunately there were no casualties among the civilian population.
On the evening of 18th of October, several settlements of the Republic were subjected to Ukrainian shelling at the same time. The Ukrainian troops attacked the villages of Zaitsevo, Kominternovo and Dokuchaevsk. Weaponry of IFVs, mortars, and small arms were used. A number of houses were damaged. Luckily, no-one was hurt.
In the front-line zone of the city of Pervomaisk, the employees of the Ministry of State Security discovered a stash with weapons and ammunition during routine search actions. The way in which the stash was made and filled indicates that it was intended for the Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups. Steps are being currently taken in order to prevent possible terrorist acts, and to stop the illegal arms trafficking on the territory of the LPR.
