This is a special program from the ANNA NEWS. I am Constantine Reztsov. Today’s special is about the request of the European leaders on the release of the Ukrainian servicemen from the ’Azovstal’.

The German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the French President Emmanuel Macron asked Vladimir Putin to free the Ukrainian paramilitary extremists from various groups and the official Ukrainian forces, who surrendered from the underground of the Azovstal factory in Mariupol — the BFMTV reported.

They made their appeal in a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin, during which they asked him to release the 2,500 Ukrainian militants, captured in the ’Azovstal’.

The press service of the Elysee Palace confirmed this information. They added that the leaders of France and Germany consider it necessary to lift the blockade of Odessa «to allow the export of the Ukrainian grain across the Black Sea, in order to avoid a world food crisis.»

The Kremlin press service reported that Vladimir Putin informed in details about the latest events of the on-going special military operation. He underlined that the Russian forces comply with the norms of the international humanitarian law. He clarified that with the help of Russia, a systemic work has already been organized to establish a peaceful life in Mariupol and other liberated cities of Donbass.

As for any interactions with Ukraine, Putin underlined that the negotiations with Ukraine are frozen because of Kiev. Putin added that Moscow is open to the resumption of the dialogue. Putin also gave a warning that Brussels and Washington can potentially destabilize the situation, and escalate the humanitarian crisis, by supplying weapons to Ukraine from the West.
