The situation in Donbass is escalating

1 Russia

At 08:35, smoke appeared in the mine Listvyazhnaya in the city of Belov, in the Kemerovo region. The smoke killed some workers. At the time of the emergency, there were 285 people underground. The smoke appeared at a depth of 250 meters. According to the latest data — 11 miners died from suffocation. The rest of the miners were evacuated by rescuers. 49 mine workers needed medical aid. A few of the the miners are in grave conditions. The rescue services guessed that the accident could have been caused by the ignition of coal dust. The official reason of the incident will be announced after a proper investigation. Meanwhile the Kemerovo region announced a 3-day mourning period due to the tragedy. The Kuzbass authorities promised to help all the victims and the relatives of the dead miners.

2 Donbass

The situation in Donbass is escalating. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Ukrainian troops are conducting offensive operations in some areas of the DPR and the LPR. According to the official spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, this is indicated by the reports of the special monitoring mission. She clarified that the offensive operations are being conducted near the settlements of Granitnoye and Staromaryevka. “Some information continues to be received about the use of weapons, prohibited by the Minsk agreement, but still supplied to Ukraine by the NATO countries» — the spokeswoman announced.

3 Donbass

The Ukrainian troops dropped 3 IEDs on a dense apartment block in the town of Yasinovataya. 2 IEDs didn’t detonate, the 3rd IED detonated and destroyed a civilian car. None of the local residents were hurt. “This morning, at 05:40, 3 IEDs were dropped from a Ukrainian drone on the central part of the town of Yasinovataya» — the head of the town’s administration, Dmytro Shevchenko, reported.

4 Belarus — Poland

The spokeswoman of the Polish Border Guard, Anna Michalskaya, reported that over 200 illegal migrants, coming from Belarus, broke the border fence and went into Poland overnight. It happened at about 19:00, in the section of the border detachment in Cheremsha. The migrants behaved aggressively. They threw stones and sticks at the servicemen. 7 people remained on the territory of Poland. 5 wounded people were hospitalized — the RIA NEWS reported.

5 Russia — Syria

The SANA news agency reported that the Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, and also the Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, had a telephone conversation with the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative for Syria, Geir Pedersen. They agreed on the importance of the continuation of the process of the political settlement of the Syrian crisis, based on the UNSCR 2254. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the parties discussed the further steps to resolve the crisis in Syria, with an emphasis on the continuation of the work of the Committee, made to discuss the Syrian Constitution, in Geneva. The upcoming international meeting on Syria in the Astana format in the city of Nur-Sultan in December 2021 has undergone a detailed scrutiny.
