The Syrian air defenses repelled an Israeli attack

1 Syria

The Syrian air defenses repelled a missile attack from Israel at the Latakia province, and at the city of Masyaf, in the Hama province. The air defenses managed to shoot down several incoming missiles. The Syrian news agency ’SANA’ reported that the missile attack was targeted at a plastic warehouse. The attack on a warehouse in the Syrian province of Latakia killed 1 person. 6 people, including a mother and a child, were injured.

2 Syria

The report of the US Defense Department’s Inspector General on the progress of the Operation ’Unwavering Determination’ stated that the Pentagon accused Russia of violating the deconflicting mechanism in north-east of Syria. The document covers the period from 1st of January till 31st of March, 2021. It was noted that «although the Russian forces generally comply with the agreements to avoid a conflict with the coalition forces, they still carried out violations that didn’t endanger the coalition forces». The document claimed that Russia is trying to force the USA to leave the north-east of Syria. Officially, Russia sent troops to Syria after an invitation of the Syrian government. The US troops were sent to Syria illegally.

3 Iraq

The Iraqi oil ministry reported that the oil field in the Kirkuk province was attacked. The attackers blew up 2 oil wells, which caused fires. The ministry added that the attack «killed and injured some security and police personnel». The exact number of the victims and the injured wasn’t reported.

4 Afghanistan

The ’Tolo News’ TV reported that an attack on a bus with doctors in the Afghan province of Kabul killed 1 person, and injured 3 others. The ’Tolo News’ quoted a local government official. According to the eyewitnesses, at least 10 people were injured as a result of the attack.

5 The USA — Afghanistan

The US Air Force Central Command reported that 2 more strategic bombers B-52 ’Stratofortress’ have arrived in Qatar to provide the security for the withdrawal of the US forces from Afghanistan. They will join 4 other bombers that arrived at the ’Al Udeid’ base in late April in order to ensure the «orderly and responsible withdrawal of the US and coalition forces from Afghanistan» — end of quote.

6 The EU — the US

The Reuters reported while citing a source in the EU that the EU will allow the USA, Norway and Canada to join the military program of the ’Permanent Structured Security and Defense Cooperation’. This decision is expected to be made on 6th of May. It was noted that the main goal of the program is to improve the exchange of information between the EU members, and to expand the operational capabilities for the deployment of forces.
