The Syrian Air Force attacked a convoy of Turkish armored vehicles in the Syrian province of Idlib. According to the military reporters — the convoy was sent from one Turkish observation point to another, located near the city of Khan Sheikhun. On 19th of August it was reported that APCs loaded with weapons, intended for the pro-Turkish armed groups, have entered Syria. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Syria called it «an intrusion on the national sovereignty of the country». Earlier in August, the Turkish Defense Ministry warned their Russian colleagues about the “immoral and merciless” attacks of the Syrian army, controlled by the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The Pentagon has tested a new ground-based cruise missile, the specifications of which go against the expired »INF Treaty» — the CNN reports. According to the CNN — the missile is a new version of the ‘Tomahawk’ cruise missiles. It was launched from San Nicholas Island in the Pacific Ocean, near California. The Pentagon noted that the missile was launched from a «land-based mobile launcher, and it hit the target after more than 500 kilometers of flight». The Pentagon underlined that the missile was designed to deliver conventional warheads, not the nuclear ones. The Pentagon added that the test results will contribute to the development of the US medium-range missiles. The US officially left the INF Treaty on 2nd of August. The head of the Russian Federal Council Committee on the Foreign Affairs, Konstantin Kosachev, announced that the missile test confirms the fact of a direct violation of the INF Treaty during its operation, since it’s impossible to conduct the research and the development stages, and even produce a new missile in a span of 2nd to 19th of August.

he Syrian army has cut off the supply routes of the ‘Jabhat al-Nusra’ terrorist group in Hama, via a road block placed at the road to the city of Khan Sheikhun — RIA NEWS reports while citing their military source. According to the source — the military took the positions on the northern outskirts of Khan Sheikhun. The Syrian army, after the recent ceasefire violation done by the terrorists in Idlib, launched a military operation against the ‘Jabhat al-Nusra’ group. On Sunday, the Syrian army entered the city of Khan Sheikhun. On Monday, it was reported that the city was taken under control. The Syrian troops blocked the supply lines of terrorists by taking control over the highway ‘Damascus-Aleppo’.
4 France — Russia
The French President Emmanuel Macron, after the negotiations with Vladimir Putin in Brégançon, expressed his confidence in the European future of Russia. He posted such statement on Twitter, on Tuesday. «I am sure that the future of Russia is completely connected with Europe. We believe in Europe that extends from Lisbon to Vladivostok» — he wrote. Macron also said that during their meeting he discussed the natural fires, and the melting of the Siberian permafrost. He underlined his commitment to the joint fight against the climate change. In addition, according to Macron, the presidents of the two countries discussed the situation in Libya and Syria. While speaking about Syria he underlined the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Idlib province, in accordance with the agreements reached at a meeting in Sochi on 17th of September, 2018.
