The Syrian army liberated the city of Jarjanaz

The ‘al-Watan’ newspaper reported that on Monday, the Syrian army liberated the strategically important city of Jarjanaz, located in the province of Idlib, from the terrorists. The city is located near the main highway from Hama to Aleppo, which was controlled by the terrorists. The city was liberated by the Syrian army after fierce clashes with the terrorist groups. “Jarjanaz is considered to be a strategically important point. It is called ‘the eastern gate to the city of Maaret Nuuman’ ” — the ‘al-Watan’ specified. Jarjanaz is located 10 kilometers east of Maaret Nuuman — a large stronghold of terrorists is located in that location.

2 Syria

Major-General Yuri Borenkov, the head of the Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria, during a briefing on Monday reported that there was an attempt by the terrorists to attack the Russian air base Khmeimim with their drones. The attack took place at night. The Russian air defense systems detected and destroyed 2 UAVs, approaching the air base from the south-east. “There were no injuries or material damage. The Khmeimim airbase is operating as usual” — said Yuri Borenkov.

3 Turkey

The Pentagon Press Service announced that the US Department of Defense signed a contract with 8 Turkish companies to conduct the construction work at the Incirlik airbase. The contract is worth of $95 millions of dollars. The work must be completed by 31st of December 2024. At the moment, the 39th US Air Force wing is being deployed at the Incirlik airbase. Earlier, the Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey could close the Incirlik airbase for the US if Washington decides to impose sanctions against Ankara due to the purchase of the Russian S-400 AA missile systems.

4 Turkey.

«The Kurdish forces haven’t completely left the north of Syria — they were supposed to leave the area due to the Turkish agreements with Russia and the US» — the Turkish Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar announced. “We coordinate our activities, and fulfill the agreements with Americans and Russians. This coordination is still ongoing, especially with Russia. Our colleagues are monitoring the situation day and night” — the minister concluded.
