The terrorists captured Neirab

1 Syria

The ‘Al-Masdar’ news website reported that after fierce battles with the armed opposition — the Syrian troops were forced to tactically retreat from the city of Neyrab, in the province of Idlib. The terrorists attacked the defensive lines of the government forces 3 times with the support of the Turkish artillery and tanks. The Syrian troops killed more than 150 terrorists. The news agency ‘Anadolu’ recently reported on the capture of Neyrab, which is located west of Sarakib. According to the ‘Anadolu’ — the opposition forces have complete control over the city. The Syrian military command has yet to confirm the reports of the loss of the city of Neyrab.

2 Russia

The Russian defense ministry denied the report, made by the UK-based ‘Syrian Observatory for Human Rights’, about the alleged air attacks of the Russian Air Force on the settlements of Kansafra and Al-Bara, in the Syrian province of Idlib, on Monday. «This message is false. The airplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces did not perform any combat missions in the indicated areas on 24th of February, 2020” — the Russian Ministry of Defense reported and added that the report of the UK-based NGO is a “deliberate fake news”.

3 Turkey

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during a press conference on Tuesday, announced that he wants to meet in person with the Russian President Vladimir Putin on 5th of March, during the 4-way Syria summit. “We will have an opportunity to go beyond the telephone conversations, and talk face to face” — he explained. Erdogan added that a Russian delegation is expected to arrive in Turkey on Wednesday, in order to discuss the situation in Idlib. The Turkish President underlined that Ankara has developed a road-map to resolve the situation in Idlib, and Ankara «continues to discuss it with Russia».

4 Russia

The spokesman for the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, announced the consideration of the possibility of a meeting between Russia, Turkey and Iran on Syria, in a multilateral format. This announcement isn’t related to the bilateral contacts. “Currently we are coordinating the schedules of the presidents” — Peskov explained and added that it doesn’t take into account the participation of France and Germany. The spokesman for the Russian president specified that the ‘Iranian option’ is currently being worked out.

5. Switzerland

The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, during the 43rd session of the UN Human Rights Council on Tuesday, announced that even talking about the possible ceasefire agreement with the terrorists in Idlib is a defeat to the terrorists, and it is an encouragement of their activities. He added that the international community, and the Human Rights Council, are obliged to block the path of the extremists who have raised their heads. 6 Switzerland.

The USA have yet to respond to the Russian proposal to extend the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, without any preconditions — the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated during the Conference on the Disarmament in Geneva. He underlined that the lack of the certainty regarding the document causes concerns. Sergey Lavrov also noted that the extension of the treaty would be a reasonable step that would prevent the degradation of the strategic stability.
