The Ukrainian Armed Forces violated the ceasefire in Donbass

«Donetsk urged Kiev to move from the empty words to the real preparation for the exchange of PoWs. Ukraine should abandon their populism, and focus on a substantive dialogue with Donetsk within the framework of the Minsk platform» — said the plenipotentiary of the DPR in the Contact Group, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR — Natalia Nikonorova. “We are faced with a situation in which the Ukrainian representatives include in the lists some persons who are currently on the wanted list. They can’t be exchanged in any way. The inclusion in the lists of those people who should be on the lists is very selective. The Ukrainian negotiators invent some categories that are, allegedly, denied to be exchanged. The so-called ‘complex of measures’ clearly specified a simple and understandable formula — the exchange should be carried out via ‘all for all’ plan» — Natalia Nikonorova explained. The head of the office of the Ukrainian President, Andriy Yermak, told to the ‘Reuters’ that Kiev hopes to conduct an exchange of PoWs with the Republics of Donbass in the coming weeks.

Ivan Filiponenko added that, despite the current truce, the high command of the Ukrainian troops «grossly violate the agreements» and deploy heavy weaponry in the settlements. “According to the OSCE — 2 armored vehicles were stationed in a residential area of ​​the village Popasnaya. 1 armored combat vehicle is located near the village of Vrubovka” — said Ivan Filiponenko.

On 4th of August the Ukrainian troops violated the truce. The Ukrainian troops opened fire from grenade launchers and small arms in the Gorlovka and Mariupol regions. The villages of Zaitsevo, Dolomitnoye, and Novolaspa were under fire. The representation of the DPR in the joint control and coordination center has repeatedly reported about the attempts to commit provocations at Ukrainian positions.

On 6th of August there was no shelling from the Ukrainian troops. Near the village of Zaitsevo, at an altitude of about 200 meters, a UAV, namely a «Quad-copter», was spotted. No crossing of the contact line took place.

«Ukraine continues to sabotage the implementation of the ‘Framework Decision’ by making new military positions at the Petrovskoe-Bogdanovka withdrawal area of the armed forces and assets» — said Eduard Basurin, an official representative of the People’s Militia of the DPR. “The Special Monitoring Mission of the OSCE noted facts that prove the construction of trenches, firing positions, and mortar trenches of the Ukrainian troops in that withdrawal area. The mission specified that on 4th of August there was a report on a new trench located 1.5 km away from the south-western edge of the village of Bogdanovka” — Eduard Basurin explained.

«The Ukrainian troops planted 22 anti-tank mines at the road near the village of Mayorsk. The village has a Ukrainian checkpoint, with the exact same name, that faces the DPR» — said Eduard Basurin, the deputy head of the People’s Militia Department of the DPR. He added that near the village of Vodyanoe, north of the town of Mariupol, the Ukrainian troops had placed 23 anti-tank mines. Since 27th of July, 2020, a package of additional measures, made to enhance and control the ceasefire, has been in effect in Donbass. Ukraine, the DPR and the LPR are prohibited from using any weapons, including small arms. Any offensive action, including pulling military equipment to the frontline, placing mines, and additional engineering work on the positions, are also prohibited.
