Russia and Syria are calling on the world community to put pressure on the US in order to lift their sanctions against Syria due to the coronavirus pandemic — the joint statement made by Mikhail Mizintsev, the head of the Russian National Defense Control Center, and Hussein Makhluf, the Syrian Minister of Municipal Administration and Ecology, announced. According to the statement — the US refuse to see the threat of the spread of the coronavirus epidemic in Syria, and the US do not take into account the opinion of the UN. “In these conditions, we urge the entire world community to provide the Syrian government with an international support, and to apply pressure on the US and their allies in order to lift the illegal and inhumane sanctions aimed at the extermination of the population of an entire country” — TASS quoted the joint statement.

2 the USA

Donald Trump stated that Washington has suspended their contributions to the WHO. He accused the WHO of the fact that due to their incorrect estimates and recommendations, 20 times more people were infected with the new coronavirus than it could have happened otherwise. He added that Washington is pushing for a reform of the WHO, and intends to discuss with the other countries how to use the American funds, previously received by the organization. Earlier Donald Trump has repeatedly criticized the actions of the WHO. The UN Secretary General, António Guterres, criticized the US decision to suspend the funding of the WHO in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. «I am sure that the WHO should be supported. It is absolutely imperative that the world wins in the war against the COVID-19» — said Antonio Guterres. He underlined that it is necessary to “learn” new lessons because of the pandemic, but he added that “such time has not yet come”.

3 Russia

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergei Ryabkov, stated that the suspension of the US funding of the WHO is a manifestation of Washington’s selfish approach to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. This step deserves «condemnation and judgement». “We urge the USA to abandon their further attacks on the WHO, and instead — take responsible actions that will preserve the foundations of the international cooperations in the biomedical matters, enhance this cooperation, and form the basis for a further improvement» — the TASS news agency quoted Ryabkov.

4 Yemen

The spokesman of ‘Ansar Allah’ Yemeni armed forces, General Yahya Saria, stated that the rebels from the ‘Ansar Allah’ movement repelled the attacks of the Arab coalition in the province of Marib, 120 km east of the capital of Sanaa — the ‘Al Mayadeen’ TV quoted the general. He added that the coalition aviation launched at least 20 missile strikes in Marib and the nearby Al-Jauf provinces, right before the attacks. The locals were affected by the missile attacks. Some material damage was inflicted as well.

5 Lebanon.

A UAV of the Israeli Air Force attacked a vehicle that carried several Hezbollah Shia armed forces commanders, on the Syrian-Lebanese border. “There were no victims” — the Lebanese TV channel ‘Al-Jadid’ reported. According to an another Lebanese TV channel ‘LBC’ — the vehicle may have been blown up by a bomb, and not attacked from the air.

6 Ukraine

The press service of the office of the Ukrainian President Vladymyr Zelensky announced that the office confirmed the upcoming exchange of PoWs with Donbass in the coming days. The approval of the list and the logistics is underway. «The release will take place in the near future. The exact date is being specified» — the press service reported. The press service denied the media reports that the exchange is, allegedly, taking place right now. The presidential office added that the process is complicated by the fact that the release takes place during the quarantine, and therefore, some mandatory preliminary isolation of the citizens whom Ukraine plans to take back is required.
