1 Syria

The «Al-Masdar» news website reported that the Syrian military and militia units destroyed an ISIS terrorist group that attacked their positions near the ‘Es Saura’ oil field, in the Raqqa province. It was reported that the government forces repelled the attack, and pushed the enemy back, killing at least 10 terrorists. The Syrian army reinforcements were recently sent to the areas in the south-west of Raqqa. With the support of aviation, the troops had begun an anti-terror operation in the region — they were ordered to protect the local oil fields.

2 Syria

The SANA news agency reported that the Syrian security service found a stash of weapons, US-made TOW missiles, and more than half a million of small arms ammo left by the terrorists in the southern region of Syria. The SANA news agency reminded that on 23rd of May, during the clearing of the areas recently freed from the terrorists in the western province of Dara’a — a large number of weapons and ammunition were found.

3 The USA

The »CNN» reported that the heads of the US cities and states are extending the curfew due to the protests, caused by the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. The curfew was imposed in nearly 40 American cities. The «New York Times» reported that the National Guard was deployed in 21 state in order to contain the riots. The »Associated Press» reported that the US authorities, over the past few days, have detained about 4,100 protesters. The »Fox News» reported that more than 50 US Secret Service personnel were injured in Washington as a result of the clashes with the protesters. According to the «NY1» TV — 345 people were detained in New York during the protests. 33 police officers were injured. 47 police cars were damaged. In the city of Minneapolis, about 150 protesters were arrested on Sunday during the protests.

4 The USA — Russia

Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman for the Russian president, stated that the unrest in the USA is an exclusively internal matter of the USA. “Naturally we are observing what is happening in the USA very closely. But everything that is happening there is an internal matter of the USA. We have never intervened in the American affairs, and we are not going to intervene now” — Dmitry Peskov concluded. The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, called the statement of Susan Rice, the former national security adviser to the ex-US President Barack Obama, regarding the alleged involvement of Moscow in the current unrest in the USA, to be an “informational manipulation”. Earlier on Sunday Susan Rice stated on air of the CNN that the riots, caused by death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, could be organized from the outside by the «Russian influence».

5 Spain — Iraq

The newspaper «Pais» reported, while citing their sources, that at the end of July, Spain will completely withdraw their contingent from the base near Baghdad. «The center of the international coalition in Bismay, under the Spanish command, was tasked to train large units of the Iraqi army and police. Their task was completed» — end of quote. After the withdrawal of the Spanish military from Bismay, about 80 servicemen will remain in Iraq at the Taji base. Plus about a hundred servicemen of the special forces that support the Iraqi military in the fight against the ISIS. »Pais» reminded that the Spanish military will leave Afghanistan at the end of this year, or at the start of the next year.
