Unscheduled mobilization in Ukraine

On 8th of March, 2019, at 1 AM, the «spring» truce has began. However, unlike the previous cases, when Ukraine tried, at least for a while, maintain the appearance of a cease-fire — this truce was violated by Ukrainian troops 15 minutes after it started. Heavy weaponry was used right away. In just 3 days of the «Spring Truce», the Ukrainian troops fired more than 180 shells on the territory of the republic, including mortar shells of various calibers. Small arms were also used. The most striking case of violation of the truce was the targeted fire from an ATGM on the Vasilyevskaya pumping station. As well as killing our soldier by sniper fire.

A soldier of the people’s militia of the DPR told that the situation on the front-line is getting hotter right before the presidential elections in Ukraine. Two weeks ago, during the day time, only an occasional gunfire could be heard on the front line. Currently, the shelling from large-caliber machine guns, grenade launchers and mortars is going on during day and night.

The representatives of the DPR in the joint center of the control and coordination of ceasefire, and the employees of the utility company “Water of Donbass” were under fire from the Ukrainian troops near the village of Yasinovataya. This was announced by the head of the DPR representative office in the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime — Ruslan Yakubov. “During the repair work near the Vasilyevskii pumping station of the 1st lift of the South Donbass water pipeline, an operational team of the DPR representative office in the joint center for the control and coordination of ceasefire, and the repair team of the »Water of Donbass» utility company were under fire of a grenade launcher” said Ruslan Yakubov. He added that the Ukrainian troops opened fire despite the ceasefire regime between the parties. And also despite the previously received security guarantees from the Ukrainian representatives in the joint center of the control and coordination in the area.

During the winter period of the military training, practical combat exercises are being conducted at the shooting ranges of the People’s Militia of the LPR. The troops constantly improve their proficiency level on the combat vehicles and the onboard weapons. During the course of the training, the People’s Militia work on their combat vehicle driving skills on difficult terrain. There is also an obstacle training course, which includes an anti-tank ditch, a track bridge, and barriers of land mines and explosives.

A reconnaissance and sabotage group of the Ukrainian army lost 3 servicemen in a minefield while trying to enter the territory of the LPR. This was announced by the official representative of the People’s Militia of the LPR — Lieutenant-Colonel Andrei Marochko. The group of 10 servicemen tried to enter the territory of the Republic near the settlement of Zhelobok. They were spotted by the servicemen of the People’s Militia of the LPR. When the group tried to enter the LPR — they went to a minefield and lost 3 men. “The bodies of two (dead Ukrainian soldiers) were quickly evacuated by the saboteurs. One body was abandoned during their escape. At the moment, the enemy is trying to evacuate the body under the cover of mortar and sniper fire” — said a representative of the LPR Defense Ministry.

he Ukrainian Ministry of Defense decided to hold an unscheduled “mobilization week” in order to complete the personnel of the brigades on the front lines in the Donbas. This was announced by the head of the press service of the People’s Militia, Daniel Bezsonov, as he referred the intelligence data. “From 11th of 15th of March, there is a call for the reserve military personnel training of the second stage. This will last until 10th of April” — said Daniel Bezsonov.
