The Iranian oil minister, Bijan Namdar Zangane, in his letter to the chairman of the OPEC conference, the Algerian oil minister Mohammed Arkab, expressed his opinion that the negotiations of OPEC+ countries, aimed to reduce the oil production, may be futile since the OPEC members have yet to agree on the terms of the deal. “Iran opposes the calling of a meeting without clarifying a number of issues first” — the letter concluded.
