An explosion in Idlib


1 Mexico

A railroad bridge in the capital of Mexico collapsed with a train passing on the bridge. 2 train cars fell from 10 meters tall bridge. 23 people, including children, died. Another 65 were hospitalized, more than 70 were injured. At the moment the rescue operation at the crash site has been completed. Doctors, police, and the National Guard soldiers work at the crash site. The debris is being cleared with the help of special equipment, which can take at least a day. Dozens of rescuers and 3 truck cranes were involved in the operation. It was noted that the cause of the collapse is still unknown.

2 Syria

On Monday, an explosion inside a weapons depot of the radical Syrian opposition groups, in the north of the Syrian province of Idlib, killed at least 3 people. 6 were injured. The depot was attacked by a combat UAV. The ’Al Arabiya’ TV reported that the depot was located near the ’Al Farusia’ refugee camp. The number of casualties could increase. A workshop for the production of IEDs was located nearby as well.

3 Iraq

The ’Reuters’ reported that an Iraqi military base in the city of Balad was under a missiles attack. Some US troops are stationed at the base as well. 3 missiles fell on the territory of the base. There were no reports on casualties and destructions so far. On Sunday, the Baghdad’s international airport came under a missiles fire. The part of the airport in which the American troops were stationed was hit. The ’Al Arabiya’ TV reported that the Baghdad’s air defenses intercepted at least 5 missiles.

4 Saudi Arabia

Brigadier General Yahya Saria, the spokesman for the Yemeni rebel movement ’Ansar Allah’, has tweeted about the attacks on Saudi Arabia with 4 drones and 2 ballistic missiles. It was noted that the attacks were aimed «at the military facilities of the Najran airport, and at the King Khalid airbase, in the city of Khamis Mushait. The attacks were precise». The ’Al Arabiya’ TV reported with a reference to a representative of the Arabian coalition, led by the Saudi Arabia, about an interception on Sunday evening of a UAV with a bomb in one of the southern regions of the kingdom.

5 The USA — Afghanistan

On Monday, the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated at a joint press conference with the British Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab, that the USA, despite the withdrawal of the US troops, do not intend to leave Afghanistan. According to him, the USA intend to «actively act diplomatically by trying to push forward the negotiations on a political settlement between the Afghan government, and the Taliban». The ’TOLOnews’ TV reported while citing their sources that the USA and the Taliban are discussing the possibility of completing the withdrawal of the US troops from Afghanistan by early July. The US Special Representative for Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, have arrived in Kabul.

6 Kyrgyzstan — Tajikistan

Kyrgyzstan announced that as a result of the conflict on the border with Tajikistan, the number of the wounded reached 153. 36 people died. On Monday, 25 tons of humanitarian aid were sent to the Batken region, bordering Tajikistan. On 1st of May the parties agreed on a ceasefire, and on a withdrawal of the troops. On Monday, Bishkek and Dushanbe completed the withdrawal of troops from the border. Currently, combat engineers are gathering the unexploded shells in the areas near the border with Tajikistan.
