An Iraqi airbase was attacked

It was noted that 3 people were slightly injured.
The Erbil airport in Iraqi Kurdistan came under rocket fire on Wednesday night — the local mass media reported. The airport was attacked with a UAV. It was noted that after the attack, all passengers were evacuated from the aircraft, standing on the runway. He reported that the drone that was used for the attack fell near an airbase close to the airport. There were no casualties and no damage. The mass media reported that air-raid sirens went off at the American consulate in Erbil.

Ned Price, the head of the press service of the US State Department, announced that the US special envoy for Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, is ready to go to Doha once again to discuss the Afghan settlement. Ned Price stated that the US administration supports the inter-Afghan negotiations, and calls for an end to the on-going violence. He noted that «there is no military solution to the conflict. The Pentagon spokesman John Kirby stated that the USA didn’t disclose to the Afghan authorities the exact time of the pulling of the US forces from the Bagram base for the security reasons. He noted that the US military cooperated with Afghanistan during the transferring of control over the base. John Kirby explained that the USA «should take into account that during the pulling of the US forces, the Taliban could make a move’’. Last week, the Pentagon reported that the US and NATO forces had left the base in Bagram. A number of the US mass media reported that the Afghan authorities weren’t warned in advance about the US withdrawal.
The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Russia will do everything needed to protect its allies from the threat from Afghanistan, including using the capabilities of the Russian military base on the Tajik-Afghan border. He added that Vladimir Putin had negotiations with the presidents of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and he is in a contact with other Central Asian leaders. Sergei Lavrov mentioned that Moscow is closely observing the situation in Afghanistan. ’’The situation is usually getting worse, partly because of the fast pulling of the US and other NATO troops» — end of quote.

The Russian Ambassador to Armenia, Sergei Kopyrkin, stated that Armenia and Russia are discussing the possibility of expanding the presence of the Russian border guards in the Syunik region of Armenia.
