During the meeting of heads of the delegations of the Council of Europe, held on this Friday, the overwhelming majority of participants spoke in favor of continuing the negotiations with Russia. This was reported by the vice-speaker of the Russian Parliament, Peter Tolstoy. According to him, traditionally against such decision were representatives of Ukraine, the Baltic countries, and Great Britain.

Canadian Foreign Minister, Christy Freeland, said that Canada intends to provide Ukraine with almost 5 millions of dollars to cover the expenses of training of the Ukrainian army. The money will be spend on carrying out various exercises, and the purchase of special equipment, as well as first aid supplies. Freeland added that Canada will continue to exert pressure on Russia, mostly by economic sanctions, until Russia fulfills its »obligations under international law».

Today in China, at the session of the National People’s Congress, Xi Jinping was re-elected once again as the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, and as the Chairman of the Central Military Council. Xi Jinping has held both of these posts in China since 2013.
