The Ukrainian military continues to fire at the cities and towns of the Republic. On 17th of June the village of Kominternovo was shelled from 120mm mortars, prohibited by the Minsk agreements. As a result, a residential building on 108 Akhmatova Street was damaged. The windows, the roof, the fence, and the outbuildings were damaged. Fortunately, there were no victims among the civilians.

6 houses and a power line were damaged in the village of Aleksandrovka, on the western outskirts of the city of Donetsk, as a result of a morning shelling done by the Ukrainian army — the representatives of the DPR in the Joint Center for Monitoring and Coordination of the Ceasefire reported. In addition, 7 spans of a low-voltage power line were damaged on Lenin Street. More than 50 houses were cut off the grid.

«The Ukrainian troops have installed more than 400 anti-tank mines at the entrance to the checkpoint ‘Mayorsk’ » — the People’s Militia Department reports. The scouts found an installation of new landmines near the ‘Petrovskoye-Bogdanovka’ military withdrawal site, in the south of Donbass, from a village controlled by Ukraine. The explosive devices were laid in close proximity to the public road. Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian troops were mining the N-15 highway at the entrance to the occupied village of Maryinka. The village has a checkpoint, leading to Donetsk.

The DPR servicemen have intercepted a Ukrainian UAV, used by the Ukrainian troops to monitor the OSCE mission near the village of Gorlovka — the People’s Militia Department announced. It was noted that the operator of the UAV «intentionally carried out dangerous maneuvers very close to an OSCE drone». The Ukrainian drone was also used to check the camouflage of the military equipment, stationed at the positions of the Ukrainian army.

The ‘CBC’ reported that Canadian military instructors will return to Ukraine to continue to train their soldiers. According to the Canadian Ministry of Defense, about 60 Canadian servicemen remain in Ukraine during the on-going pandemic. The representatives of the Canadian Military will arrive in June. They will go through 2 weeks of quarantine, due to the current self-isolation regime.

«Ukraine should coordinate any decisions, regarding the future of the region, with the Republics of Donbass» — said the plenipotentiary representative of the DPR in the Contact Group, the DPR Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalya Nikonorova. On Wednesday, 17th of June, the head of the office of the Ukrainian President, Andrei Yermak, stated during an interview with the Ukrainian news agency »The Left Bank» about the completion of the legal draft of amendments to the law on the “special status of the region” with included Steinmeier formula in the law, which Kiev will discuss with Kiev-appointed «representatives» from Donbass. “We didn’t receive this project. Currently, only our proposals to amend the law have been submitted to the Contact Group” — said Natalya Nikonorova. «Any acts that somehow affect the future of the Republic should be coordinated with the representatives of the people of Donbass, who have been subjected to the Ukrainian aggression for more than 6 years by now».
