1 Nagorno-Karabakh
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense reported that Armenia carried out a rocket attack on Azerbaijan on Monday morning. Azerbaijan stated that «Armenia carries out such irresponsible actions in order to provoke Azerbaijan to retaliate». There were reports of shelling of a number of cities around the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry stated that they are taking adequate measures. The Armenian Ministry of Defense reported about a rocket attack on the city of Stepanakert by the Azerbaijani troops — the press secretary of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Shushan Stepanyan, made such statement on Facebook. The official representative of the Armenian Defense Ministry, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, stated that Azerbaijan fired at the city of Stepanakert with MLRS such as ‘Smerch’, ‘Polonez’, and the Turkish ‘T-300 Kasirga’. Earlier the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry reported that on Sunday night and Monday morning, the hostilities in the Karabakh conflict zone continued, with various intensity.
2 Armenia
The European Court of Human Rights has received a request from Armenia to take actions against Turkey because of the current conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh — the ‘TASS’ news agency reported while citing the press service of the court. It wasn’t specified when the request will be considered. Earlier it was reported that Yerevan appealed to the European Court of Human Rights with a request to take actions against Turkey due to the military aid that Ankara provides to Azerbaijan in the conflict in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
3 The NATO
The NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg stated at a joint press conference in Ankara, after a meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, that NATO expresses a concern over the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, and NATO calls on the parties to negotiate. «We are very closely following the situation in Karabakh. The parties of the conflict must cease fire immediately. Every effort must be made to reach a peaceful solution via the negotiations» — Stoltenberg explained.
4 Russia
The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that Russia, the USA, and France are preparing a joint statement of the foreign ministers regarding the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. Sergei Lavrov underlined that «we need to think not only about the statements, but also about solid steps that can be taken in order to end the bloodshed, and return the situation to the negotiations».
5 Afghanistan
The ‘Pajhwok’ news agency reported that an explosion, which took place during an attack on the convoy of the governor of the Laghman province, in the eastern Afghanistan, killed 8 people and injured 28. The provincial governor is reported to be alive. According to the 1TV — 2 governor’s bodyguards and some civilians were killed. No other details were reported. None of the extremist groups, currently operating in Afghanistan, claimed the responsibility for the incident.
6 Iraq
The ‘Sky News Arabia’ reported that on Monday morning, 2 rockets hit the «green zone» of Baghdad. The press service of the Baghdad security department stated that the rockets were fired by one of the terrorist groups at the Jadriya district.
