Forced «liberation» of Donbass is unacceptable

The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian forces, Ruslan Khomchak stated that a forced liberation of Donbass is unacceptable for Ukraine since this path will inevitably lead to large casualties among the civilian population and the Ukrainian servicemen.

«The liberation of the temporarily occupied territories by force will inevitably lead to the death of a large number of civilians and casualties among the military, which is unacceptable for Ukraine» — end of quote.

According to him, now the priority for the Ukrainian authorities is the political and diplomatic way of resolving the situation in Donbass.

Ruslan Khomchak added that the Ukrainian troops are ready for «an adequate response in case of an escalation of the conflict» and for the «complication of the military-political and military-strategic situation in Ukraine».

He clarified that the information about the preparation of the Ukrainian troops for an offensive operation in Donbass is fake.

On 29th of March, in an interview with Alesa Batsman, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper ’Gordon’, Ruslan Khomchak stated that the Ukrainian army is ready to go on an offensive operation in Donbass. According to him, however, it is still necessary to consider all the risks.
