Kyrgyzstan accuses Tajikistan of border violation
1 Armenia — Russia
The head of the Armenian Prime Minister’s Office, Arsen Torosyan, stated in the parliament that Russia, as a strategic ally of Armenia, is making every effort to peacefully resolve the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. He noted that «there is mutual understanding with Moscow on the issues of resolving the border situation». Arsen Torosyan added that Russia is making every effort to resolve the situation without firing a single shot, because the risk of a full-scale war still exists.
The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergei Vershinin, and the UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, discussed a political settlement in Syria during a telephone conversation. «A detailed discussion of the current situation in Syria took place with a special attention to the task of enhancing the humanitarian aid, and advancing the political settlement process, based on respect for the sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity of the country, as provided for in the UN Security Council resolutions» — the message stated.
3 The UN
The Russian Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, stated during the discussion of the Syrian «chemical dossier» at a meeting of the Security Council that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons «should not turn into a conductor of political interests, or an instrument of punishing». He added that «the risks are becoming more and more real that the matter won’t be limited to Syria. Any other state can be put under such pressure with the help of a chemical lever»
4 Kyrgyzstan — Tajikistan
Kyrgyzstan accused Tajikistan of violating the agreements on the state border. The press service of the government of Kyrgyzstan reported that on the night of 4th of June, some Tajik servicemen «entered Kyrgyzstan for a 1,000 meters, and set up a container on an undescribed section of the state border». It was reported that the Kyrgyz Border Guard servicemen, stationed on the border with Tajikistan, were put on a high alert due to the tense situation. Tajikistan has denied the statement of Kyrgyzstan. The press center of the Border Troops of the State Committee for the National Security of Tajikistan announced that the border troops of Tajikistan are guarding the border with Kyrgyzstan in accordance with the agreements. They didn’t violate the agreements, reached during the work of the inter-governmental commission.
5 China — Afghanistan — Pakistan
The foreign ministers of China, Afghanistan and Pakistan jointly stated that their countries expect the return of the Taliban movement to the political mainstream of Afghanistan. The 4th round of the consultations between the foreign ministers of China, Afghanistan and Pakistan took place on Thursday, as a video conference. The text of the joint statement was published on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry. «The parties confirm that they do not support the creation of any government in Afghanistan via military force. The parties want Afghanistan to become an independent and sovereign state» — the document stated. The parties added that the internal conflict in Afghanistan must be resolved peacefully, and called on all parties to declare a complete ceasefire as soon as possible, to create the necessary conditions for the negotiations between the Afghan government, and the Taliban.
6 Russia — Latvia
The Russian Ministry of Defense has published the documents about the liberation of Latvia from the Nazi invaders. Despite the attempts to distort history and erase the deeds of the Soviet soldiers, these documents indicate that the inhabitants of Riga met the liberators with great joy and sincere adoration.
