1 The USA
The New York city Police Chief, Dermot Shea, stated that about 300 protesters were arrested in New York over the past day. The number of the arrests, however, is declining every day. “The arrests are applied to those who commit acts of violence, looting, or assault on the police” — the NY1 TV quoted his words. The police chief promised to conduct a proper investigation of the allegations that some of his subordinates exceeded their authority. The ‘TASS’ news agency reported that the protesters in Brooklyn tried to chase away the mayor of New York, Billy Di Blasio, from the rally. However, the protesters listened to the mayor’s wife, Chirlain McCray, who is an African American. She asked the crowd to calm down. After that, Billy Di Blasio was able to speak. The mayor promised to change the New York police. The security measures in the city park were enhanced significantly — the park was blocked off by the police. A police helicopter hovered in the sky as well.
2 Libya
The troops of the Libyan Government of National Accord captured the city of Tarhun, located 65 km to the south-east from Tripoli — the «Al Jazeera» TV reports while citing their military source. «Our troops have established complete control over the city of Tarhun» — the official representative of the GNA forces, Muhammad Kanuno, announced on Facebook. He noted that the GNA forces were ordered to «destroy any source of resistance without mercy». Earlier on Friday the sources of the »Al Jazeera» reported that the GNA forces launched an assault on Tarhun from several sides. On Thursday the GNA forces announced the recapture of the Tripoli’s administrative borders. Earlier on Wednesday it was reported that the GNA forces pushed out the LNA forces from the International Airport of Tripoli, as well as several other areas south from the city. The LNA stated that they relocated their forces outside of Tripoli in order to successfully resume the negotiations of the military committee.
3 Libya
The »SANA» news agency reported that the Libyan National Army, led by the Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, shot down a Turkish UAV near the city of Beni Walid, in the north-west of Libya. The Libyan mass media reported, while citing their source in the LNA, that the LNA air defense forces shot down the UAV when it tried to attack the LNA positions.

“Russia is concerned about the situation in the western Libya, where the armed groups commit more crimes than before. Those groups have terrorists of ‘Jebhat al-Nusra’ — they arrived from Syria. In violation of the humanitarian cease-fire, announced by the Libyan National Army due to the Ramadan and due to the pandemic — those armed groups continue fighting. Acts of retaliation are taking place in the settlements. Some members of the international terrorist organizations, who were convicted of serious crimes, have escaped from prisons as well.” — the ‘TASS’ news agency quoted the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova. She underlined that the further hostilities can escalate the crisis in Libya. Maria Zakharova added that the conflict in Libya can be resolved «only via the Libyan nationwide dialogue». Russia «calls on the international community to make every effort to help Libyans to overcome the current dead-end situation» — Zakharova concluded.
