1 The EU

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, made an appeal to the EU countries to quickly approve the sanctions against Belarus due to the migrant crisis. She stated that in the coming days, the Deputy Chairman of the EC, Margaritis Schinas, and the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, will travel to the countries of transit and origin of migrants, in order to study the situation. The EU is investigating the possibility of applying sanctions against third-country air-lines, involved in the illegal transport of people. On Monday, a group of migrants tried to cross the EU border from the Belarusian territory. They were stopped by the Polish border guards.

2 Russia

The press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, stated that Moscow hopes that the situation on the Belarusian-Polish border won’t take forms that would threaten the security of Russia. He added that Moscow and Minsk are in a constant contact regarding the situation via all possible channels, including the channels of special services. «Therefore, the exchange of information is going on. But I repeat once again — this is a problem, a real problem, which concerns Belarus and Poland. And we, of course, are very concerned about this matter» — Dmitry Peskov concluded.

3 Yemen

After the Khadists retreated to Marib, and fortified in the mountainous heights of Balak, the rebels continued their offensive and reached the new line of defense of the Hadi forces. New heavy skirmishes took place on the outskirts of the provincial capital. The Khadists organized counter-attacks against the «Ansar-Allah» forces. However, after a few days of fighting, the attacking side began losing. Having suffered losses in killed, wounded and prisoners, the Khadists did not achieve serious results and were unable to drive the Ansar-Allah troops away from the Balak mountains. As a result, the Khadist forces had to curtail the operation and begin to retreat. At the moment, the fighting at Marib continues. A number of sources in the Ansar-Allah movement claim that the fate of the city may be decided within the next few days.

4 Syria

The Israeli Air Force planes attacked Syria. Facilities in the central and coastal areas were under attack. The Syrian air defenses tried to repel the air strike and shot down some of the incoming missiles. The air attack was carried out from the Lebanese airspace. The SANA news agency confirmed that two soldiers were injured. Israel often carries out air strikes on the territory of Syria. The last time it happened on the night of 3rd of November, 2021. Targets near Damascus were attacked from the air.

5 The Black Sea

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the US military is studying the Black Sea as a theater of possible military action. This is how the Department of Defense reacted to the exercises of the United States and its allies in the region — the RIA news reported. «Taking into account the fact that, in addition to the US Navy, the exercise is planned to involve tactical, patrol and strategic aviation, as well as the armed forces of Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine — there is a study of the future theater of military operations in case if Ukraine prepares a military solution in the south-eastern part of Ukraine — the Russian ministry noted.

6 Russia — Kazakhstan

The program of strategic partnership in the defense sector for 2022-2024 was signed on Tuesday by the heads of the military departments of Russia and Kazakhstan, Sergei Shoigu and Murat Bektanov. Sergei Shoigu stated that “the relationship between the armed forces of the two countries has a strategic nature. Despite all the difficulties, the military cooperation between the military departments is developing steadily. Development is proceeding progressively, and in a strict accordance with the existing plans and the changes, in particular the Afghan matter.
