During a meeting of the UN Security Council, Russia presented an evidence of the falsification of the use of chemical weapons in the Syrian city of Douma back in 2018. Maxim Grigoriev, the director of the ‘Foundation for the research of the problems of democracy’, spoke during the meeting. He presented to the members of the UN Security Council the testimonies of the residents of Douma. He also said that the representatives of his organization have been to Syria more than 10 times. They interviewed several hundred eyewitnesses of various events. “The testimonies of these eyewitnesses are solid evidence that the chemical attack at Douma was faked” — Maxim Grigoryev concluded. A video message from a former OPCW mission expert, Ian Henderson, who worked at Douma, was also shown at the meeting. “The conclusions in the final report were contradictory, or completely opposite to what the group found out during and after their trip to Douma. By the time the interim report was released in July of 2018 — we understood that we had serious suspicions about whether the chemical attack took place or not» — the RIA NEWS quotes the former OPCW expert.
