The ‘Sky News Arabia’ TV channel reported with a reference to their source that the Libyan Government of National Consent has officially requested a military assistance from Turkey «on land, sea and in the air». This information was later confirmed by the head of the Russian contact group on the internal Libyan settlement, Lev Dengov. According to the ‘Al-Arabiya’ — the government led by Fayez Sarraj also requested air defense systems from Ankara.

2 Kazakhstan

The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan published a list of victims of the crash of a plane of the ‘Bek Air’ airline this morning. According to the preliminary data — 12 people became victims of the incident, including the captain of the aircraft. About 50 people were hospitalized. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan reported that the department launched a pre-trial investigation under the article «Violation of the rules of safety and the rules of operation of an air transport». The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, declared 28th of December to be a mourning day due to the crash.

3 Saudi Arabia

The Houthi spokesman specified that the ballistic missile hit the command camp of the 19th Saudi Border Guard Brigade in Bir Askar. According to him, «the target was hit. Dozens of Saudi servicemen were killed and injured, there are officers among the victims».

4 The Indian Ocean

Joint exercises of the naval forces of Iran, Russia and China have began on Friday, in the north of the Indian Ocean and in the Gulf of Oman. The «Maritime Safety Belt» exercises will take place on an area of 17,000 square kilometers. The goal is to develop techniques to combat the terrorism and the piracy, as well as to ensure the regional security. During his visit to Moscow, the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif underlined that the exercises are not directed against any other countries.
