1. Syria

The ‘SANA’ news agency reports while citing a source in the Syrian high command that the Syrian air defense forces repelled an air attack over the city of Hama. «Israel committed a new aggression against Syria by attacking several military positions in Salmiya and Es Subbour, to the east of Hama» — the source of SANA reported. Earlier, the Israeli Air Force attacked the Syrian army positions in the city of Salhad, in the southern province of Es-saouira. As a result of the attack — 2 Syrian soldiers died, 4 were injured. The aircraft attacked their ground targets while in air to the east and north-east of Palmyra.

2 Libya

The ‘Al Arabiya’ TV reports while citing their sources that the Egyptian leadership is conducting consultations with the European countries in order to prevent a Turkish invasion to the strategically important Libyan city of Sirt. According to the sources of the ‘Al Arabiya’ TV — the European states have already sent warnings to Ankara, urging Turkey to refrain from trying to invade the Libyan oil regions. The NATO countries support the cessation of hostilities and the Turkish withdrawal from Sirt. The Foreign Minister of Egypt, Sameh Shukri, stated during a video-conference of an emergency meeting of the League of Arab States on the Libyan situation that Egypt will take all the measures, needed to not let Libya to fall under the control of the terrorist groups and armed militias. After the meeting of the League of Arab States, when the foreign ministers of the Arab states demanded a disbandment of the armed militias, the withdrawal of the foreign mercenaries from Libya, and the observance of the arms embargo — the Libyan Government of National Accord, headed by Faiz Saraj, decided to lower their level of representation in the League of Arab States — the Libyan TV channel ‘Libya Al Ahrar’ reported.

3 Russia — the OSCE

“An effective fight against the movement of the foreign terrorists under the guise of refugees requires joint efforts based on the OSCE experience” — said Vladimir Tarabrin, the director of the Department for the New Challenges and Threats of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while speaking at the OSCE’s annual video conference on the security issues. The OSCE was focused on the tasks, needed to block the financial, material, weaponry and personnel support for the terrorists. Tarabrin added that Russia is proposing to the OSCE to join the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime in order to prevent arms transfers to the terrorists. This idea is being implemented by a Russian initiative.

4 The UN — Israel

The UN Secretary General, António Guterres, called on the Israeli government to abandon their plans to annex the Palestinian territories during his speech at a Security Council meeting on the Palestinian-Israeli settlement. Guterres underlined that the annexation would be a serious violation of the international law, and it would undermine the possibility of negotiations. «We are at a turning point. The threat of Israel to annex a part of the occupied West Bank areas worried the Palestinians, many Israelis, and the international community» — the UN Secretary General explained.

5 Afghanistan

At least 6 civilians died as a result of a road mine explosion in the province of Jauzjan, in the north of Afghanistan — the ‘Xinhua’ news agency reports while citing a representative of the local government. It was specified that among the victims there were 3 children. The Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman, Tariq Arian, blamed the ‘Taliban’ for the event.

6. China

Colonel Wu Qian, the spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Defense, stated that China had warned Japan and other countries of the Asia-Pacific region against a deployment of the US medium-range missiles on their territory. He underlined that China strongly opposes the US deployment of their medium-range missiles in the Asia-Pacific region. «If the USA continue this plan — it will be a provocation for China right in front of the house. China won’t sit idly. China will take all the necessary retaliatory measures» — the colonel underlined. Earlier the Japanese cabinet secretary general, Yoshihide Suga, stated that currently Tokyo isn’t considering a deployment of the American missiles in Japan due to the termination of the INF Treaty.
