1 Syria

The Syrian TV channel ‘Al Ihbaria’ reported that the terrorists shelled the humanitarian corridor ‘El Hader’, which was established to allow the civilians to leave the terrorist-controlled areas of Idlib. The corridor is located on the border between the Syrian provinces of Aleppo and Idlib. According to the ‘Al Ihbaria’ — the civilians were the main targets. The additional information about the victims is currently being specified. The civilians continue to leave the terrorist-controlled areas of Idlib via the humanitarian corridors.

2 Russia

The commander of the Libyan National Army, Khalifa Haftar, left Russia without signing a ceasefire agreement with the head of the Libyan government of the national consent, Fayez Sarraj. Earlier on Monday the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that Marshal Khalifa Haftar had requested additional time to study the document. According to the ‘Al Arabiya’ TV channel — Khalifa Haftar stated that the proposed ceasefire agreement from the Government of National Consent, headed by Fayez Sarraj, ignores a number of demands from the Libyan National Army.

3 Libya

The Russian Foreign Ministry has assured that the work aimed to resolve the situation in Libya together with the parties of the conflict is still continuing. The Russian Foreign Ministry also confirmed that the commander of the Libyan National Army, Khalifa Haftar, left Moscow without signing a ceasefire agreement. The ‘Al Arabiya’ TV channel reported that Khalifa Haftar won’t sign a ceasefire agreement with the forces of the Government of National Consent, headed by Fayez Sarraj, until all the necessary amendments are made to the agreement. The Russian Ministry of Defense reports that before signing the document — Haftar took two days to discuss the agreements, reached in Moscow, with the leaders of the tribes that support the Libyan National Army. The delegation of the Government of National Consent of Libya, led by Fayez Sarraj, left Moscow after signing the agreement. They are currently in Istanbul. On the night of 14th of January the clashes resumed at the south of Tripoli.

4 Turkey

The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated that consultations, initiated by the German authorities to resolve the conflict in Libya, would not make sense without a change in the position of the commander of the Libyan National Army, Khalifa Haftar. Earlier it was reported that Germany plans to hold an international conference on 19th of January aimed to resolve the conflict in Libya. The Libyan Government of National Consent will attend the Berlin Conference on Libya if it receives an invitation.

5 Turkey

On Tuesday, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Ankara has made a contribution to the matter of normalization of the situation in Libya. “The Russian President Vladimir Putin should take care of the rest” — the TRT quoted Erdogan. He also said that Ankara will “teach» the commander of the Libyan National Army, Khalifa Haftar, »a lesson” if he won’t stop the hostilities.

6 Iran

The Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced that the Iranian authorities will create a special department in the judicial system aimed to investigate the causes of the crash of the Ukrainian airliner near Tehran. The ‘Press TV’ quoted Rowhani on the following: he called the crash of the Ukrainian airliner an “unforgivable mistake,” and he assured that “the results of the investigation of the crash of the Ukrainian airplane will be announced publicly”. The Iranian labor news agency reported that the Iranian authorities arrested several people related to the case of the downed Ukrainian airplane. The case is currently at the initial stage of the investigation. This was reported to the agency by the official representative of the Supreme Court of Iran — Golyam Hossein Ismaily.
