1. Syria

The ‘Al Arabiya’ TV reported with a reference to the ‘Syrian Human Rights Monitoring Center’ that a Turkish military convoy, consisting of 30 vehicles, crossed the border with Syria via the Kafr Lussein checkpoint in the Syrian province of Idlib at the north. The convoy also has 12 armored vehicles that carried logistics equipment. The convoy went to the south of the Idlib province. Earlier, the ‘Al Mayadeen’ TV reported that the Syrian troops surrounded the Turkish observation post in the village of Maar Hattat from 3 sides. On 23rd of December, an another Turkish outpost in the south of Idlib, specifically in Sarman, was blocked as well.

The US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, accused Syria, Russia and Iran of attacking the residents of the Syrian provinces of Idlib and Aleppo. He announced that the US are ready to take the most decisive diplomatic and economic measures. “It was reported that these forces are carrying out random air bombardments and ground attacks, which resulted in thousands of civilians of Maaret-en-Numan being under fire. As a result — they have nowhere to go” — the US Secretary of State concluded. He did not provide an evidence of his claims, nor the sources from which he obtained such information. Earlier, the head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties, Major-General Yuri Borenkov, mentioned that «since the beginning of the ceasefire, the Russian Air Forces haven’t carried any combat sorties»

3. Syria

On Monday, the ‘SANA’ news agency reported that the terrorists attacked the oil facilities in the Syrian port city of Baniyas. According to the ‘SANA’ — the terrorists detonated their explosive devices under water. Local personnel were sent to the explosion site in order to assess and fix the consequences of the attack.

4 the USA

The White House deputy spokesman, Judd Deere, announced that Donald Trump had a meeting in the White House with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. They discussed the so-called “deal of the century” — a plan to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Donald Trump intends to publish the plan on Tuesday, at noon, by the local time. ‘The Wall Street Journal’ reports, while citing their own sources, that the plan to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is closer to the position of Israel on the key issues. The ‘Donia Al-Watan’ news website reported that the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas refuses to discuss the “deal of the century” with Donald Trump.

5 Palestine

The ‘Al Jazeera’ TV reported, with a reference to their sources in the Palestinian government, that the Palestinian authorities had requested the ‘League of the Arab States’ to hold an emergency meeting in order to work out a common Arab position on the US plan to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict — the «deal of the century». It is expected that the meeting will be held at the level of the heads of the foreign ministries of the Arab states on this Saturday, in Cairo. The president of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, will speak at the meeting. He will demand »A clear and strong position against the plans of the American administration» from the members of the League.

6. Venezuela

The leader of the Venezuelan opposition, Juan Guaido, promised to hold new protests after his return to Venezuela — Guaido announced on Monday after his meeting in Ottawa with the Canadian Foreign Minister. He promised to tell about the details soon. During the meeting in Ottawa, the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau assured Juan Guaido that Ottawa will support him in overcoming the current crisis in Venezuela.
