The initial meeting was canceled back in September due to a terrorist attack in Kabul that killed an American serviceman.

The negotiations aimed to resolve the conflict in Donbass between the leaders of the «Norman Four» countries — Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine — will take place on 9th of December in Paris. The Norman Four summit will start on Monday evening, and it will last for 2 hours 45 minutes. Prior to the summit, the Russian President Vladimir Putin will talk with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and then with the French President Emmanuel Macron. After the summit, a meeting is planned between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky, in the Champs Elysees. After the summit, a press conference of the leaders of four countries will be held.

The US State Department announced that a meeting between the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will take place on 10th of December, in Washington. The parties plan to discuss «a wide range of regional and bilateral problems». The press service of the CSTO Joint HQ reported that the 15th meeting of the Military Committee on the Development of the Military Cooperation of the CSTO Members will be held on 13th of December in St. Petersburg.
