Tochka-U missile shot down over Belarus

1 The DPR

Flowers, candles, and half-mast flags. 15th of March is a day of mourning in the DPR. More than 20 people died and dozens were injured during the recent missile attack at the center of the city of Donetsk. Most of the people died near the building of the Central Bank of the DPR. A memorial was placed in that area. People come to honor the memory. Many find it difficult to hold back their tears. The day before, the Ukrainian military launched a missile from a «Tochka-U» tactical missile system. The local air defense forces shot down the incoming missile, but one cassette did explode. More than 20 people remain in Donetsk hospitals. Many are in critical conditions. For all the locals, the missile attack was a huge shock. «The DPR authorities have the data on all the people, responsible for the deaths of civilians» — the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated.

2 Russia

The official representative of the Russian ministry of defense, Igor Konashenkov, reported that the Russian Airborne Forces captured a Ukrainian military installation with Ukrainian national battalions and foreign mercenaries. 10 ATGMs «Javelin» and other weapons that the Western countries have been supplying to Ukraine in the recent months have been captured. Igor Konashenkov mentioned that all the weapons will be given to the DPR and the LPR forces. He added that the entire Kherson region is under the control of the Russian forces. The Russian forces also captured a Ukrainian marine base in Berdyansk. The retreating Ukrainian forces abandoned at least hundreds of military vehicles.

3 The DPR

The Ukrainian forces attacked the village of Golmovsky in the DPR with MLRS ’’Grad’’. 20 rockets were used — the DPR representatives at the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire reported. The attacks also took place at around 13 hours near Taramchuk and Yelenovka.

4 Ukraine

Vladimir Zelensky admitted that Kiev can’t become a member of the NATO. He stated that Kiev needs new formats of the interaction with the Western countries, and separate security guarantees. Earlier, on 8th of March, he stated that he disregarded the matter of the Ukrainian accession to the NATO, and he won’t beg Brussels for anything anymore.

5 The DPR

The Russian forces continue to evacuate the residents of Mariupol. More than 1,000 people have been evacuated from the liberated regions, including 70 foreigners. Among those people there were also members of the OSCE mission. The Kherson region is under control of the Russian forces. It allows the Russian forces to move on the cities of Krivoy Rog and Zaporozhye, which the Ukrainian forces were fortifying from the East. Over the past day, the Russian aviation and the air defense forces shot down 16 Ukrainian air targets: 2 planes, 1 helicopter, and 13 UAVs. 3 hangars with Ukrainian military transport were destroyed at the military airfield near Kramatorsk. The DPR forces continued their offensive and broke through the defenses of the Ukrainian nationalists. The DPR freed the settlement of Panteleymonovka, and reached the areas of Verkhnetoretsko-Novoselovka-2.

6 Belarus

Alexander Lukashenko spoke about a missile attack on Belarus. According to him, 2 days ago, a missile from a «Tochka-U» tactical missile system was fired from Ukraine. The missile was intercepted and shot down above the Pripyat River. Alexander Lukashenko stated that the missile was intercepted thanks to the joint efforts of the Belarusian and Russian forces. He added that his country is being pushed into the hostilities in Ukraine via such missile attacks.

7 Russia

Vladimir Putin and the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, discussed the Russian special operation in Ukraine and the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The telephone conversation took place on the initiative of the Bahraini side — the Kremlin press service reported on Tuesday. The use of the Russian-made vaccines against the COVID-19 in Bahrain has been successful.
