Ukraine expands the sea borders || Breaking News, 30th of December 2018
On Saturday, several thousands of people went on a protest march in the city of Belgrade. They marched through the city center with posters while chanting «Vuchich is a thief!» This is the fourth protest march of the opposition in the city in the recent weeks. The protesters demand freedom of press, an end to the attacks on journalists and opposition. Protests in Serbia are rather rare since the year of 2000.
In the Netherlands, police detained 4 people on the suspicion of their involvement in terrorist activities. “Rotterdam police, with the support from special units, detained 4 suspects on 29th of December. They are being suspected in involvement in preparation of terrorist attacks” — the police explained. Searches are being conducted in the houses of the detainees.

Petro Poroshenko signed the law «On the adjacent zone of Ukraine». The law extends the Ukrainian controlled zone in the Black Sea up to two times. Officially, the goal of the new law is “the harmonization of the maritime legislation of Ukraine with the legislation of other Black Sea countries and other states parties to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea from 1982”. The new law will »prevent violations» of the customs, tax matters, immigration issues, and sanitary legislation of Ukraine. And it will also allow Kiev to bring other countries to responsibility for violation of laws within Ukraine, “including in the inland waters or the territorial sea” — the presidential press service specifies.

A meeting of the defense ministers of Russia and Turkey, Sergei Shoigu and Hulusi Akar, took place in Moscow on 29th of December. The topics of discussion were the withdrawal of US troops from Syria, the situation in Idlib, and other issues related to Syria. “We will have an opportunity to once again discuss the situation in the Idlib de-escalation zone, and in the DMZ. In addition, we will talk about the implementation of the agreements which we have reached in Istanbul, and about the work that was carried out after that. And also about everything that concerns the areas east to Euphrates» — said Sergey Shoigu while opening the meeting. It is also planned to “discuss what can and should be done in relation to the withdrawal of the US troops from Syria” — he added.
