Ukraine is against the special status of Donbass

Aleksiy Reznikov, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and the Deputy Head of the Kiev delegation in Minsk, announced the development of a package of bills on a transitional period for Donbass. Reznikov expressed his opinion that the reintegration of the region will last at least 1 generation — about 25 years. He underlined that Ukraine won’t prescribe a special status for Donbass in the Constitution. “This is out of question. The president repeatedly stated that the Minsk agreements need changes. «The observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission have officially confirmed the fact that the Ukrainian servicemen laid mines on a road near the village of Schastye» — Ivan Filiponenko, an officer of the press service of the People’s Militia of the LPR, announced during a briefing. “The enemy continues to use the ceasefire as a cover to lay mines in the area. 38 anti-tank mines were found across a local road near the village of Schastye, in the area of ​​responsibility of the Ukrainian 25th Brigade. Kiev blocked the coordination mechanism made for the responses to the violations with the participation of the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination, in the current composition. «During the meetings of the working group on the security issues and the Contact Group, which took place on 15th and 16th of September, Ukraine avoided the discussion of a new date for the joint inspection of the positions of the Ukrainian troops near the village of Shumy» — the representatives of the DPR at the Center announced. The parties agreed on that inspection during an extraordinary meeting of the Contact Group on 9th of September. Ukraine stated that it no longer sees the need for such events. Ukraine refused to take the additional measures, and thus — cancelled the coordination mechanism, which is important for the verification and prompt response to all violations.

«During a meeting on 14th of September, the commander of the Joint Forces Operation ordered the field commanders to counter-act on the flights of the UAVs of the international observers, in order to prevent the detection of the military equipment, located in the settlements — namely on the territory of private households — and in a violation of the withdrawal lines» — said the officer of the press service of the People’s Militia Department of the LPR, Alexander Mazeikin. He added that the Ukrainian air defense forces of the 14th brigade conducted fire control training. They trained to detect, track, and destroy such air targets.
