Ukraine keeps shelling Donbass

Ukraine continues to shell the territories of the LPR. They target the residential areas on purpose. This time the Ukrainian artillery shelled the village Glubokaya, near Bryanka. An apartment building was under fire. The few local residents that still remained here now have to repair their windows. The shell fragments also damaged the local power lines.

On the evening of 25th of March, the Ukrainian Forces used 120-mm mortar, banned by the Minsk agreements, to shell the settlement Frunze from the village of Krimskoye. As a result — a woman was wounded. A local child received a light concussion as well. The representatives of the LPR in the joint center for the control and coordination, together with the staff of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic determined the direction from which the shelling was carried out. They collected fragments of exploded shells, and interviewed the victims. The People’s Militia noted that the LPR will mention this case of shelling during the next meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk.

The servicemen of the People’s Militia of the LPR shot down a Ukrainian UAV, launched from the area of the withdrawal of troops and equipment No. 2, named »Pervomaisk-Zolotoe». This was announced by the official representative of the Defense Ministry of the Republic — Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko. He urged the representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to pay attention to this case, and mention this violation in their reports.

The Ukrainian leadership continue their election speculations around the work of the “Stanitsa Luganskaya” road checkpoint. The artificial hysteria, connected with the repair works on the collapsed bridge across the river of Seversky Donets is being actively mentioned. The Ukrainian leadership proposed, as alternative, to use the checkpoint »Zolotoe». They essentially suggested to redirect people and cars to move along the land-mined section of the »Zolotoe-Pervomaisk» road. The residents and guests of the Republic didn’t like this initiative. They consider an opening of a checkpoint on the bridge near the town of Shastie to be way more convenient.

«The armed conflict in Donbass will end only when Ukraine engages in a direct dialogue with Donbass» — this was stated by the head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik, when he answered the questions from the residents of Ukraine on a hotline. “This is a very important issue. This question, of course, worries not only me personally, but also all the residents of the LPR. As well as most of the residents of Donbass. When will this war, which wasn’t even started by us, end? Any attempts on our behalf to resolve this conflict by political means absolutely didn’t find any understanding and support from Ukraine so far. This suggests that today’s war is simply beneficial for the Ukrainian government” — Leonid Pasechnik explained.

“On the proposal of an exchange of the POWs, according to the formula “72 for 19”, the Ukrainian representatives in the humanitarian subgroup repeatedly heard ‘no’, because of two main reasons. Firstly — this proposal contradicts 6th clause of the “Set of measures for the implementation of the Minsk agreements”, as well as the previously agreed interim formula for the exchange of “all the established individuals in return for all established individuals”. Secondly — the official Kiev didn’t provide an adequate explanation of the reasons for the exclusion from the list for the exchange a number of individuals, which were previously confirmed by Ukraine. «We call on the representatives of Ukraine to stop politicizing the Minsk process, and to move as soon as possible to the implementation of the previously developed mechanisms for the swift return of POWs. The citizens on both sides of the border line are impatiently looking for it with hope» — says the official statement of the Commissioner for the Human Rights of the DPR, Daria Morozova.
