Violation of the armistice in Donbass
For the first time in the past 2 and a half months, the Ukrainian troops violated the ceasefire by firing from mortars at the positions of the LPR People’s Militia. On 19th of October, at 06:40 AM, the Ukrainian troops opened fire from the village of Luganskoye at the positions of the People’s Militia of the LPR in the village of Kalinovka. The LPR office in the joint control and coordination center recorded the use of mortars, grenade launchers, and small arms. The Ukrainian troops opened fire from mortars placed in a close proximity to the residential buildings, which violates the Minsk agreements. «The people’s militia of the LPR continues to follow the Minsk agreements, and observe the ceasefire, made in the framework of a comprehensive truce» — said Mikhail Filiponenko, the head of the LPR in the Center.
On 18th of October the Ukrainian troops violated the indefinite ceasefire 8 times. They fired from grenade launchers, mortars, and small arms at the villages of the Donbass republics. The villages of Kashtanovoye, Mineralnoye, Yakovlevka, Spartak, and Kominternovo were under fire once again.
On 22nd of October the Ukrainian troops used drones in a violation of the Minsk ceasefire agreements. The representatives of the DPR in the joint control and coordination center recorded the flight of one such UAV near the village of Petrovskoye. The Ukrainian troops also opened fire on the Donetsk settlements, such as Trudovskaya mine, Mineralnoye, and Leninskoye. They violated the ceasefire for 4 times with grenade launchers and small arms.
1 Ukrainian serviceman and 3 government employees were injured when a Ukrainian truck hit a Ukrainian mine. This was announced by the official representative of the People’s Militia of the LPR — Yakov Osadchy. He clarified that as a result of the explosion — 2 employees of the Stanichno-Lugansk state forestry department, 1 soldier, and 1 employee of the Ukrainian State Service of the Emergency Situations received shrapnel wounds. They were taken to the »Stanichno-luhansk hospital», where they received medical assistance. “We are addressing the residents of the front-line territories, controlled by Ukraine. Be extremely careful. If you find explosive objects — immediately contact the representatives of the monitoring international organizations, and the General Prosecutor’s Office” — Yakov Osadchy added.
«Ukraine has confirmed its readiness to allow the persons with Ukrainian registration to enter the territory of the Luhansk region, controlled by Kiev, via the contact line at the ‘Stanytsia Luhanska’ checkpoint» — said the representative of the LPR in the humanitarian subgroup of the Contact Group, the head of the working group of the LPR for the exchange of PoWs — Olga Kobtseva. Ukraine has notified the LPR about the suspension, from 15th to 31st of October, of the ‘Stanitsa Luganskaya’ checkpoint. However, as Olga Kobtseva explained, «the Ukrainian announcement regarding the checkpoint did not actually take place. Starting from 16th of October, Ukraine allowed people who had the residence papers to enter the territory of the LPR in some special cases». Olga noted that it remains unknown by what criteria the representatives of the border service, and other departments of Ukraine, are being guided in their decision to let a person to pass through the checkpoint.
The Ukrainian military police detained a Ukrainian serviceman in the village of Avdievka who was trying to send ammo to his former colleague in the city of Vinnitsa by mail — the DPR People’s Militia Department reported. Such cases of the removal of ammo from the conflict zone in Donbass are common. Recently it was reported about the arrests of whole trains loaded with weapons and ammo at the railway stations of the villages of Konstantinovka and Krasnoarmeisk.
