Yemen launches rocket attacks on mercenaries in Shabwa province
The Yemeni forces launched a missile attack on Saudi mercenary HQ in the Shabwa province — the SANA NEWS reported. A spokesman for the Yemeni military, Yahya Saria, stated that the missile «hit the target dead on» — there were casualties. He added that it was the 3rd missile strike in the last few days.
2 The LPR
A military expert from the LPR, Andrey Marochko, denied the Ukrainian accusations about shelling of the Ukrainian positions by the People’s Militia of the LPR. He stated that the Ukrainian HQ of the Joint Forces Operation accused the LPR military of shelling the territory, controlled by Ukraine. Ukraine stated that as a result of the shelling, a resident of Svetlodarsk, who was fishing near the Uglegorsk reservoir, received a gunshot wound. Marochko explained that «the reservoir is located in a lowland, from where it is about 2 kilometers to the positions of the People’s Militia» — end of quote.
3 Russia — The USA
Today, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will discuss the Russian response on the developments that Washington has presented on Russian proposals for the security guarantees with the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, via a telephone conversation — the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated. The ministry gave no other details.
4 Russia — France
Vladimir Putin held telephone negotiations with the French President Emmanuel Macron. The presidents exchanged their views on the situation with Ukraine, and the issues related to the long-term security guarantees to Russia. Vladimir Putin once again outlined in detail the principal approaches of Russia to those problems. A personal meeting between the presidents of Russia and France is in the planning stage by now.
The Ukrainian Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Aleksey Danilov, stated that Ukraine doesn’t plan to implement the Minsk agreements in the form in which they are concluded. He added that the West shouldn’t force Ukraine to comply with the agreements, since it could lead to instability in the country. He also believes that it is necessary to start negotiations on the conclusion of a new document that would force Russia to «pull back the troops and tanks».
During his speech at the opening of the regular session of the Ukrainian parliament, Vladimir Zelensky announced the creation of a new format of cooperation with the UK and Poland. The agreements are planned to be consolidated during a visit of the UK and Polish prime ministers — Boris Johnson and Mateusz Morawiecki — to Ukraine on 1st of February.
