The Russian Armed Forces took Gorobyevka, in the Kharkov region

He didn’t rule out rolling blackouts. Meanwhile, on 18th of October, the Russian air force launched strikes against the critical infrastructure of Ukraine. Several explosions took place in Kiev, and on the local power plant TES-6. The Pridneprovskaya TPP, in the city of Dnepropetrovsk, was hit as well. Electricity and water supply were lost in the city of Zhitomir after the explosions. Infrastructure facilities were damaged as well. The eyewitnesses share the footage of the event as black smoke rises over the city. The energy infrastructure facilities in the Ivano-Frankovsk region were hit as well. The residents were asked to stock up on water and charge their phones. Explosions took place in the city of Kharkov as well. A large fire started on one location due to explosions. The electricity supply was partially cut off.

3 Australia Australia will no longer recognize West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel — the current authorities of Australia thus canceled the decision, taken by the previous conservative government. The Australian Foreign Minister, Penny Wong, stated that the question of the status of Jerusalem should be resolved via peaceful negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian people, not via one-sided decisions. «We won’t support an approach that undermines this perspective» — she stated and added that «the Australian Embassy has always been, and remains in Tel Aviv.»

4 Ukraine The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian forces liberated the village of Gorobyevka, in the Kharkov region. The official representative of the ministry, Igor Konashenkov, stated that «In the Kupyansk frontline, during the offensive operations, the Russian forces liberated the settlement of Gorobyevka, in the Kharkov region» — end of quote. The Russian military carried out heavy attacks on the units of the 1st Ukrainian Operational Brigade of the National Guard.

5 Russia The press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, stated that the explosives for the attack on the Crimean bridge could have been delivered by sea from Odessa. 6 Ukraine The draft resolution on the termination of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Iran has been sent to the Ukrainian Parliament — Aleksey Goncharenko, a deputy from the parliament, stated on 18th of October. He added that the Ukrainian Parliament considers to appeal to the UN, the European Parliament, the PACE, the NATO, and other international organizations and the governments of third countries with a call to «recognize Iran as a country that sponsors the terrorism, and to enhance the sanctions».
