The deputy of Russian Defense Minister, Yury Borisov, reported that during the modernization of the Tu-160 bombers their range will be increased by 10%, which will allow them to fly a 1000 kilometers further. He visited PJSC «Kuznetsov» in Samara, which is the leading Russian company for the development, production, technical support and repairing of gas turbine aircraft engines, liquid-fuel rocket engines, and gas-turbine power plants for the gas industry. The company repairs existing engines and creates a new version of the NK-32 engine for the supersonic strategic bomber Tu-160M2.

US NAVY submarine ‘Hartford’ has stuck in ice. The incident occurred last week, but gained wide popularity only now. The submarine was on the training to perfect possible «strikes on Russia.» However, it could not surface for the launch of missiles, and instead ended up in ice captivity. The footage leaked to the Internet and quickly became popular. Some people in social media joke that Russia is now using Arctic ice for defensive purposes.

Over the past day, the Ukrainian troops have violated the truce four times, firing 27 shells at the front-line territories of the DPR. Mortars and weapons of the IFVs were used in shelling. Gorlovka and Sakhanka villages in the south of DPR were under fire.

Just before the big trade war, the administration of the White House announced that the special import tariffs have been suspended for Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, EU countries, and South Korea until 1st of May. Steel from Russia, India and Costa Rica will remain subjected to the new custom regulations. The White House spoke not a single word about trade with Ukraine. Earlier Donald Trump ordered to impose import duties on steel and aluminum in 25% and 10%, respectively. The decree starts today.

The website of the Russian Defense Ministry concluded the voting on the names for the three types of new weapons, announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on 1st of March . The combat laser complex was named «Peresvet», the underwaterdrone — «Poseidon», and the newest cruise missile — «Burevestnik». This voting attracted the attention of at least eight million people.

The evacuation of the Syrian opposition fighters by the corridor to Idlib began in Harasta, a suburb area near Damascus. Earlier, the Center for reconciliation of the warring parties helped with reaching of the agreement on the safe retreat of the fighters of the »Ahrar al-Sham» group from Harasta. The safety of that group along the whole way is provided by the Syrian police, under the control of the Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties, and the Red Cres-xcent.
