Five Russian military engineers and four journalists of NTV and Zvezda TV channels were injured as a result of the explosion in the Syrian Deir ez-Zor. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the reporters were working in one of the city quarters when a controlled landmine blast happened. All the victims were promptly delivered to the Khmeimim base and received medical care. The injuries are reported to be not life-threatening.

NTV channel reported on the conditions of wounded journalists. They were injured as a result of the explosion of a controlled landmine in Deir ez Zor. «NTV correspondent Ilya Ushenin has the heaviest injuries — a shrapnel wounds to his stomach, fingers broken and ear pierced. The operator Timur Voronov also has shrapnel wounds and a broken leg. But most importantly, as the doctors said, their lives are out of danger, «- a message on the official website of the TV channel says.

The militants of «Hayat Tahrir al-Sham» and the Free Syrian Army conducted a massive joint counterattack against government troops in the north of the province of Ham.
