Zelensky spoke out against the special status for Donbass

The Ukrainian presidential candidate Vladimir Zelensky spoke out against granting a special status to Donbas. He stated it during an interview to the RBC-Ukraine. In his opinion, the settlement of the conflict won’t be quick. “I think it is a big deal. We will have to get out of this criminal situation over a long time” — said Vladimir Zelensky. As the presidential candidate believes — an information warfare could help. “I very much hope that the information will return those people to an understanding that Ukraine needs them as much as they need Ukraine” — he explained. He added that «a lot of humanitarian steps» are needed to be taken. He called the lack of a dialogue with the residents of Donbass the biggest mistake.

The villagers of Aleksandrovka told that they have been living in front of the positions of the Ukrainian troops for 5 years by now. Every day they are being shelled by the Ukrainian soldiers. The family living in the center of the village shows their yard and their house, both of which get hit with the bullets coming from the Ukrainian positions.

As a result of a Ukrainian shelling of the LPR territory — a girl born in 2007 received an explosive injury in the settlement of Zolotoe-5, on the L. Chaikina Street. Moderately wounded, she was hospitalized to the May Day city hospital. Some local houses were damaged as well.

The cafe «Separ», located in the center of Donetsk, will be demolished, and a memorial complex in honor of the first head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, will take that place. This was announced by the administration of the head of the DPR. The date of the start of the construction work wasn’t specified. There is also a prevailing opinion among the local residents that a memorial should be also built in the center of the capital. More than 70,000 people have supported this idea by voting for one of the five possible projects of the future complex. Alexander Zakharchenko died back in 31st of August, 2018, as a result of an explosion in the center of Donetsk.

The distinguished air defense personnel of the People’s Militia of the LPR, the ones that shot down plenty of Ukrainian UAVs, received combat awards by the decree of the Head of the LPR — Leonid Pasechnik. The military personnel received their combat rewards «Defender of the sky of the Homeland» right on their combat positions near the line of contact. The official representative of the People’s Militia of the LPR, Lieutenant-Colonel Andrei Marochko, and the head of the Air Defense of the LPR Defense Department, Lieutenant-Colonel Yevgeny Misko, personally gave the combat awards to the servicemen.
