1. the USA

The US authorities introduced restrictive measures against the ministries of defense and energy of Turkey — the US Ministry of Finances reports. The US Ministry stated that the Turkish Minister of Defense Hulusi Ankar, the Minister of internal affairs Suleiman Soilu, and the Energy Minister Fatih Donmez are included in the sanctions lists. The assets of these ministries and ministers in the US are now frozen. The US citizens are prohibited from doing business with them. The US Treasury Department warns that «people conducting transactions with the persons from the lists may be subjected to sanctions». The sanctions were the Washington’s response to Ankara’s military operation against Kurds in north-east of Syria. Donald Trump announced that «the USA will immediately cease the negotiations on a deal worth of $100 billions of dollars with Turkey». The USA will also increase the tariffs on the Turkish steel to 50% up from the level before the tariff cuts in May.

The Russian Deputy Ambassador to the UN Gennady Kuzmin announced that the US authorities once again didn’t issue visas to 18 representatives of the Russian delegation for the 74th session of the UN General Assembly — the Interfax reports. At the end of September, the USA refused to issue visas to 10 employees of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The visas were needed to participate in the UN General Assembly in New York. Among those employees are: the head of Roskosmos Dmitry Rogozin, the head of the Russian parliament’s foreign affairs committee, Leonid Slutsky, and the head of the international affairs committee of the Russian federal council, Konstantin Kosachev. The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that a number of Russian diplomats were unable to participate in the ‘Fort Ross Dialogue forum’ in the US, in early October, due to the lack of American visas.

3. the USA — Turkey

During a telephone conversation with the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Donald Trump called for an immediate ceasefire in Syria.
